The COVID-19 pandemic will occupy a large space in the future History books. Also, the manner how we react as a society against this situation. To the many charity actions that are being carried, Fundación Telefónica adds the #SumaFuerzas initiative, which wants to encourage social and business actors to collaborate in an unprecedented crisis.
As a first step, Fundación Telefónica joins forces with the Red Cross to offer its help. With this objective, José María Álvarez – Pallete, Chairman of Telefonica, and Leopoldo Pérez Suarez, General Secretary of Red Cross Spain, have announced, among other collaborations, the donation of €500,000 euros destined to the creation of confinement spaces for homeless people, and to enable the delivery of basic goods at the household level or in other confinement spaces or to people in a special vulnerability situation.
Apart of this economic donation, the Fundación Telefónica has launched the #SumaFuerzas campaign among its employees. The initiative is open to any people who want to make a contribution to this unprecedented Health crisis. All the funds raised will obtain and deliver basic goods at the household level or in other confinement spaces or to people in a special vulnerability situation.
